The Grand Prairie Arts Council is an independent, non-profit cultural arts organization. GPAC was incorporated in January 1979 to produce, promote and support the visual and performing arts in Grand Prairie. 65% of GPAC`s funding comes from theatre production revenues, patron memberships, donations and grants; supporting year-round community arts programs.
The Arts Council is managed by a Chief Operations Officer, Chief Financial Officer and the volunteer Board of Directors. The Grand Prairie Arts Council is proud to be supported by the City of Grand Prairie, but is not part of the city government.
In 2021, through individual donations, grants, corporate sponsorships, and city support the Grand Prairie Arts Council will produce, support and sponsor these cultural events and programs:

GPAC has a renewed vision and energy for the Arts in our community with our permanent performance venue, the Uptown Theater; the GPAC Studio at 116 East Main Street, right next door to the Uptown Theater; and the GPAC rehearsal space at the Veteran's Park Event Center.
The Arts Council will continue to expand arts programming so that the Uptown Theater, and venues throughout our community, will be filled with diverse arts events.
