Step back into NYC in the 1930’s the rough and tumble life of a little orphan named Annie We are seeking a diverse cast of adults and children (ages 7 and up) to bring this beautiful and moving story to life. Performers of all backgrounds, gender identities, body types, and abilities are encouraged to audition.

We will send callback notifications by email by 5:00PM on Friday, October 2. Dance videos and reading sides will be available at www.artsgp.org/auditions by September 22nd. Appointments will be given priority, and walk-ins will be taken as time allows.

SHOW SYNOPSIS:
In 1930s New York City, spirited young orphan Annie escapes the cruel Miss Hannigan and sets out to find the parents who left her years ago. When she is invited to spend Christmas with billionaire Oliver Warbucks, Annie’s optimism transforms everyone around her—but a scheme to claim a reward for her return threatens her chance at a new family. Featuring beloved songs like “Tomorrow,” “Maybe,” and “It’s the Hard Knock Life,” Annie is a heartwarming musical about hope, resilience, and finding where you belong.
AUDITION WILL INCLUDE
MUSIC: Please prepare 32 bars of a musical theater song in the style of the show. You may audition with a song from the show. A pianist and Bluetooth speaker will be provided. Please bring music in the correct key and no tracks with backing/guided vocals or acapella auditions.
MONOLOGUE: Please select one of the provided monologues to perform or provide one of your own. If selecting a piece of your choice, please try to select something that is within the tone of the show and can showcase depth. (INFO COMING SOON)
DANCE: Dancing will be done at the callbacks on Saturday, October 4, by invitation only. Auditioners will be asked to perform a general audition combo. For those interested in being considered for more dance-heavy features, they will also be required to demonstrate across-the-floor ballet and ballroom steps.
Videos of the general audition will be posted on the GPAC website by Monday, September 22.
REHEARSALS: Begin Monday, October 13
Rehearsals generally run Mondays - Thursdays, 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM, and Saturdays from 9 - 12 PM and/or 1 - 4PM. Promotional photos will be taken on a Friday. And tech week will start Sunday, December 7.
A tentative calendar will be available at auditions. Please be sure to list ALL conflicts on your audition form, including days we do not specify we have rehearsals. Rehearsals are at GPAC's rehearsal space at the Veteran's Park Event Center and move to the Uptown Theater two weeks before the show opens
